Two Cayuga County men are facing federal child pornography charges as the result of an investigation that included the FBI, state police, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office, the Baldwin City (Kan.) Police Department and the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Larry R. LaVancher, 60, of Walker Road, Sennett, faces as much as 20 years in prison for allegedly sending images of child pornography over the Internet to a Kansas police officer posing online as a woman and a young girl, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office.

Police said the investigation later led to James Bonsant, 58, of North Seward Ave., Auburn, who allegedly had child pornography on a laptop computer.

Police said the two men were associates. Records at The Citizen indicate the two formed a business partnership in 2002.
