Do you still have your Christmas stuff up?
As senior citizens, we cannot see how the kiosks will be an advantage for the elderly. Currently, after a heavy snowfall, you can't get to the meter, or the sidewalk, from a parking space on the street due to snow accumulation.
While I don't receive The Citizen, I can appreciate the fact that you send out the weekly little excerpts from the weekend and you drop them off to all the homes on the outskirts of Auburn. The thing is when you throw them by our mailbox, put plastic on them.
Mr. Editor, I don't include my name on my opinions because I do not want some stupid judge, lawyer, politician or bureaucrat to make me a criminal for my lawful actions since the 1930s.
In 1935-36, fifth- and sixth-graders use to bring .22s and shotguns to school to shoot on the range during gym and hunt squirrels, rabbits, pheasants on the way home. Nobody ever threatened anyone else, ever.
Where did Bush get the $30 billion to give over to Israel when he can't even have health care here in the United States?

"Where to next?" is designed to pause its rotation on a mouseover, as well as instantly flip content when you mouseover the tabs on top.

naturelover -- I like a good glass of wine myself, whether local or imported. I wasn't busting your chops so much as Steve's -- lots of us disagree and it makes the discussion lively. But Steve's coming down on ANGMOM3 after she explained why she had been using all caps was uncalled-for.
ANGMOM3 -- hope you won't be put off or let your voice be stifled. You just have to have a little bit of a thick skin in this-here online community. I haven't followed your posts and have no opinion on your opinions per se except that you have every right to them and I hope we keep hearing from you.
Cheers -- I'm late for the Colts kick-off and it's time to go.
Go Giants! (Even as a fan, I know they are not a Superbowl quality team, but I would sure love to see them win against Dallas) "

But -- now we know the reason ANGMOM3 uses all caps is because she's visually impaired. You have a good suggestion that she try using the browser's "increase font size" feature -- that way she'll be able to see what's she's typing without being misinterpreted or annoying to others. It's a good suggestion, but it could have been given with a bit more consideration and good will now you know that ANGMOM3 wasn't writing in all caps to be a jerk.
Disagree with her opinions and take her to task for that, after all, that's what this space is for -- but chill on her disability; you never know when it could be you or someone you love. If you were using all caps because you couldn't see what you were typing well, and you didn't know about the increase font size feature (or you'd tried it and it didn't work), how would you like someone to talk to you about it?
Put yourself in someone else's shoes for a minute before you rake 'em over the coals.

I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANY "SPECIAL CONSIDERATION."

I got the last of my holiday ornaments down last weekend, and have only one more string of lights to remove from my otherwise denuded tree. I saw somewhere the week after Christmas a listing of numbers to call to recycle your tree -- the one for Aurora said call this number, then just leave the tree by the road and they'd come pick it up. Anyone know that number? (I never take my tree down until at least 12 days past Christmas).
No, one incident doesn't start a war, and at any given time any given country may have hundreds of irritations going on with other nations, but there is usually some single incident that sparks things into open and official conflict, i.e. war. Part of why it is so hard to sort out afterwards is because there were all those smaller annoyances all along.
Also, the reason politicians give the public for going to war are almost never the real reason, or certainly not the main reason -- that's just the reason most likely to inspire the public to back a war.
