An Auburn man was arrested after police say he stabbed a man in the back during a fight on New Year Day.
The Auburn Police Department arrested Michael A. Klock Thursday on charges he allegedly assaulted a man with a knife at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 1 at Billy Dee's Bar and Restaurant at 33 Chapman Ave.
The 26-year-old faces a second-degree assault charge. The victim identified Klock, of 37 Sheridan, police said. Auburn Police officers spotted Klock walking on Canal Street Thursday evening.
During the bar fight, another victim man sustained stab wounds, but said he did not know who assaulted him. The Auburn Police Department still is investigating the stabbing of the second victim.
Police ask anyone with information on this case to call 253-3235.
Both victims sustained non-life threatening wounds and went to University Hospital in Syracuse.
Police said a prior dispute between parties caused the fight.
Two other people were arrested last week for an unrelated stabbing in the wee hours of New Year's Day.
