A 20-year employee of the Skaneateles Police Department remains in critical condition after a driver ran a stop sign and struck his vehicle.
William Marventano, of Auburn, was driving west on Lee Mulroy Road when Jay Searle drove his vehicle north on Bishop Hill Road into the Marventano's vehicle at 10:15 p.m. Thursday. Marventano, who also heads security at Cayuga Community College, remains in University Hospital, while his wife, Debbie, was released from Crouse Hospital later Thursday evening.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office charged Searle with driving while intoxicated.
