A power outage in the southwest section of Auburn left parts of 50 streets in the dark Friday night.
The problem began at about 9:30 p.m. Auburn Fire Department Assistant Chief Martin Corcoran said a couple of main wires between South Street and Fitch Avenue were out of service, affecting parts of South Street, the area around Wegman's, and streets in the southwest.
A NYSEG spokesperson said the outage resulted from repairs being done at a substation and that the power was expected to be back on by 11 p.m.
