In the 130-pound weight class, Port Byron's Zach Abulencia led the wrestling team to a 41-27 victory over Fabius-Pompey on Wednesday.

Abulencia defeated Sam Carroll by a 7-6 decision, Christian Cobb (140) defeated Jeremy Skvarch by a score of 12-3, Jim Schroeder (145) pinned Guthrie Cordon in 1:04 and Zach Green (160) beat Mike Ashley by a 15-7 decision.

Winning by forfeits for the Panthers were Tyler Wellington (112), Mike Borst (119), Eric Urwin (125) and Matt Laury (135).

Port Byron (3-12) hosts a tournament on Saturday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Auburn 61, Ithaca 52

Damien Whitaker led the Maroons with 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Jimmy Pitts added 13 points and nine rebounds, Dave Foltz chipped in with 10 points and five assists.

Malcolm Bryant finished with 10 points and nine rebounds and Nick Chapman recorded nine points. The Maroons were up two at the half, but saved their best play for the second half, giving up just 21 points.

Auburn (7-2) hosts Utica Proctor on Friday.

Liverpool 5, Auburn 3

Matt Festa scored the Maroons second goal on assists from Kevin Festa and Bobby Gage.

Kevin Festa also scored a goal on another pass from Matt Festa. The Maroons' other goal was from Sean Hogan and assisted by Chris Clifford.

Tommy Trowell had 26 saves.

Auburn hosts the Savannah Bank Tournament on Friday, first playing Pennfield.
