Political parties do more harm than good

Wednesday, January 2, 2008 9:47 AM EST

Govern as a group not as a party.
The American people are fed up with all of the bickering and jostling for power between political parties. We want our representatives to work together for the better of America and its people.

With the oath of office, politics should end, we do not need a divided house.

Better yet, maybe it is time for all political parties to fall to the wayside, as they do more harm than good.

Whatever the solution, the people we select to represent us need to govern as one group for the good of all as it was intended in the Constitution.

" So without political parties we can have hundreds of candidates running for president and we get to separate the whackos from the real candidates. We would have to have elections every 10 years so we could figure out the chaos of all these independent hopefuls. So I think your premise doesn't hold up against 200+ years of history. Oh wait I forgot we could declare the Bush family royalty and let them rule this nation forever by eminent domain. Not much worse than your idea. "

" The only party I like is a party with free beer. To my knowledge, I can't think of one politician that offers free beer for a vote, so I'll continue to vote my conscience. "
