An early-morning fire damaged a two-story Auburn residence Monday.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., the Auburn Fire Department responded to a general alarm fire at 22 Nelson St., according to the AFD. The fire, which originated in a family room of the two-unit complex, damaged some structure and contents on the first floor, as well as up the rear of the building, according to fire officials.

It took fire officials approximately 15 minutes to extinguish the fire, according to the AFD. No injuries were reported.

"The smoke detectors alerted them, and everyone got out safely," Assistant Chief Martin Corcoran said.

Investigators have not determined a cause yet, but a wood stove in the room where the fire started likely contributed to the fire, according to Corcoran.
