AUBURN -- Two members of council faced a tough night as they sat through their last meeting, but employees, other councilors and family members helped say goodbye.
Thursday marked Mayor Timothy Lattimore and Councilor David Dempsey's last Auburn City Council meeting.
"It was emotional. It's emotional for David, it was emotional for Tim," Councilor William Graney said. "It was hard to be there for their last night."
Before getting to the business of naming two streets Karpinski and Vitale drives in the Eastside Heights neighborhood, speakers thanked Lattimore for his years of service.
A representative of NUCOR Steel thanked Lattimore on behalf of the management team. Supporters, employees, and family members sat in the gallows to watch Lattimore's last meeting officiating the council.
"We're so proud of you. You got your dream," said his daughter, Kelly Springer. "Stay strong."
After the stream of speakers, Lattimore joked the night was like a funeral.
He also spoke to incoming Michael Quill, asking him to call him with any questions.
"I'll never say no to the city," Lattimore said.
