The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary that resulted in more than $50,000 being taken from an area business.
According to sheriff's office detective Lt. Joseph Weeks, sometime between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, forced entry was made into C & M Transportation, a trucking company on Route 38 north of Moravia, and cash was taken. The money consisted mostly of $50 and $100 bills, Weeks said.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday evening. Sheriff's detectives ask anyone with information about the incident to call 246-8136.
