It is too bad that bullies have now driven Judy Ducayne from her column. This does not mean that I agreed with a lot of things Judy said in that column - I agreed with some things. Nevertheless, I did contact her to let her know that I will support her efforts to stop cyber-bullying. I also continue to support her right, and the right of any other person, to express political views in this newspaper, because that is a precious right that no one should ever have to give up. I know from past experience that when an Internet stalker lives in your own community, there is a realistic danger that threats made online will translate into some kind of action that can endanger people, so I cannot fault Judy for putting family safety first. I can only say that if you will not stand up for Judy Ducayne's right to speak because you don't like her traditional values, good luck, because you may also wish you had a little support if someone tries to silence you some day.

Wow, I can't wait to see the Two Cents rumor mill now: the huge left-wing Backus-Estabrook conspiracy is really a false front for the big Backus-Ducayne right-wing conspiracy ... L.O.L.
