Two Cents

Tuesday, December 18, 2007 9:12 AM EST

To all you Auburn drivers with cell phones attached to your ear, please get off the road! After all it is a law and you are a danger to other drivers.
Two Cents is an ideal place for venting about smaller-scale city problems people have, like trespassers, bad drivers, and doggy poop and litter in yards. If you don't want to hear about anything but Iraq, go to the section called “Nation” (#1) and get involved in an actual anti-war protest (#2).

Hey, what should sincere neighborhood activists do when some of these “high class” people buy houses in a run-down neighborhood claiming they're here to “save the street,” only to bail out on everyone else later when they decide they don't want to raise their kids on that “low class” street, after all?

It's an amazing accomplishment that this century the Boston Red Sox have won two World Series and the Yankees haven't won anything this century, but the Yankees have been all souped up on steroids and the Red Sox are clean.

To the cold-hearted Two Cents contributor worried about walking around hungry birds being fed by kind and generous people in parking lots, watch out Scrooge, maybe someday you'll be in a parking lot being hungry, and these birds will rise above you and leave their contribution.

Why is the price of heating oil and diesel cost as much or more than gas when it doesn't cost as much to refine? Wake up, America.

" Off topic here: I was just out Christmas shopping and heard the GREATEST Christmas song EVER--"Snoopy and the Red Baron", Man, what a song. Yup, that was me, singing on the top of my lungs: "Christmas bells, those Christmas bells; ringing through the laaaaaand..."! The Royal Guardsmen RUUUUUULED!!! Greatest Christmas tune EVER! "

" The only reason so many New York players appear in the Mitchell report is that the two only "sources" for the allegations come from a trainer formerly on the Yankee payroll, and a longtime New York Mets clubhouse attendant. Those are the report's "star witnesses", who only cooperated because they were facing their own legal battles. If you're naive or ignorant enough to believe that all the other teams in MLB don't also have X-amount of players that have been juicing the past 10 yrs, then I recommend you stop by Kevin Youkilis, Curt Schilling, David Ortiz, or Josh Bekett's house for some performance enhancers that just might reach your brain LOL "

" I agree about the police on cell phones, I think they should have ear pieces as well. That being said the law as written doesn't pertain to certain energency workers including police. "

" How's that hilltop? "

suzee wrote on Dec 18, 2007 2:28 PM:

" Hilltop, what does that mean? You can't sell your house for a profit if someone is willing to pay your asking price? If you can't afford the house don't buy it! Look what is happening with all the loan problems...I blame the banks just as much as the people who opt for ARM loans and then can't afford the mortgage when the rates go up... "

suzee wrote on Dec 18, 2007 2:26 PM:

" I agree with andy regarding home buying. My husband and I are on our third house and finally feel like this is the right place. Put out a bird feeder if you want to feed the birds... Merry Christmas! "

" hey we all have to make a profit ,might as well be on the backs of those that can lest afford it ? "

Andy B wrote on Dec 18, 2007 2:06 PM:

" Ya! Buy an earpiece for your cell phone. And you shouldn't feed the birds in parking lots, it creates a nuisance and isn't good for the birds besides. "

Andy B wrote on Dec 18, 2007 2:02 PM:

" Besides most people will buy and sell a house or two until they have their final house. My wife aand I are on our second and will probaly own at least one more before we are done. "

" Those people probably realize they can't save their street and don't want their kids to grow up in the middle of a cops episode. "
