Cayuga Elementary's students got a chance to give the term “working stiff” a whole new meaning Thursday night. The school's students lined the building's main hallway as part of their Career Wax Museum. The poker-faced youngsters dressed in the garb of about 50 different professions and stood rigidly for nearly 20 minutes as parents and the public filed by.

Plow drivers hurriedly laid down a carpet of salt late Wednesday to protect Cayuga County roads from becoming a sheet of ice, and snow dropped off before morning. In short, the wintry iron curtain predicted for Wednesday evening became only a blanket of fog for today's morning commuters.
