Champion has four aces, four kills in loss

Nicole Champion had four aces, two assists and four kills as the Cato-Meridian volleyball team lost 3-0 to Fabius Pompey on Monday.
Cato-Meridian lost 21-25, 15-25 and 27-29.

Also leading the Blue Devils was Becca Myers (one ace, one assist, one kill), Ruth Kazulak (five aces, four blocks), Vicky Davis (three assists, one kill, two digs), Megan O'Keefe (one ace, one assist, two kills, two blocks), Shelby Klaben (one kill, one block) and Danielle Halstead (one assist, one kill).

WRESTLING

Cato-Meridian Dual Meet Tournament

Cato-Meridian, second place

Dom Giacolone (103 pounds), Darin Fellows (130), Nick Lalone (140), Marc Walton (145) and Ethan Holt (152) went undefeated as the Cato-Meridian wrestling team finished the day 4-1.

The Blue Devils defeated Fabius Pompey 57-12, West Genesee 50-15, Union Springs 57-6, Bishop Ludden 50-18 and lost to Hilton Central 27-34.

Red Creek Dual Meet Tournament

Auburn, fifth place

The Maroons defeated Lyons 49-31 and APW 57-24.

Luke Netti (119 pounds), Shane Woodman (160) and Mike Rooker (275) each won three matches.

Joe Giacona (112), PJ Giacona (130), Jack Weinerth (152), Cody Laxton (171) and Eric DiSanto (130) won two matches apiece.

Winning one match for the Maroons was Dave Rescott (103), James Murtari (125), Ken Currier (135), Mike Henn (145), Dan Rivera (189) and Pat Day (215).
