Police say teenager stole safe from home
A teenager was arrested Sunday night after police said she stole a safe containing cash and valuables from an Auburn residence.
Erinn E. Hesse, 17, of 16 Rose St., Auburn, was arrested by Auburn police and charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny. Police allege that she entered the home through an unlocked side door Dec. 5 and took the safe.
The safe contained $3,000, a wedding band, engagement ring and $1,500 in savings bonds, according to police. Only the rings have been recovered, police said.
Man arrested on robbery charges
An Auburn man was arrested Thursday after police said he was involved in a Nov. 27 robbery. According to Auburn Police, a 33-year-old man was struck in the head with a rock after he confronted two men who arrived at a friend's house demanding money. According to police, the victim was staying at the residence, which is in the area of Washington Street and Orchard Avenue.
The victim was hit in the head and $160 was taken from his pocket, according to police. Morris J. Bowman, 20, of 145 Park Place, Auburn, has been charged with first-degree robbery. The investigation is continuing, according to police.
