DRYDEN - The Eric Tallman murder investigation took a break from the public eye Tuesday when preliminary hearings for Bradley Libbey and Michelle Lee Malmberg in Dryden Town Court were canceled. But, it was not a day without more emotional grief for families involved in the increasingly bizarre case. Monday, James R. Heath died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his apartment. Heath was the father of James Chad Heath, who is being held without bail in Broome County jail awaiting extradition to Texas for felony marijuana possession unless he is first charged in connection with Tallman's murder.

AURELIUS - Representatives of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma said Tuesday they want to reach out to Cayuga County and offered assurances the tribe will work with the community and respond to concerns over land-claim issues and gaming operations. “We have already stated that we not only intend to be good neighbors, but that we will be good neighbors,” said Tribal spokesman Jay White Crow.
