ALFRED - A 21-year-old Alfred University student died after an off-campus altercation with another student early this morning, police said.
The victim, Thomas Argentieri, was a senior in the university's College of Business, who lived off-campus and listed a home address in Horseheads, school officials said.
Alfred Chief of Police Timothy O'Grady said foul play is suspected in the death, but officials are waiting for autopsy results. It's unclear whether a weapon was used in Argentieri's death.
Police have interviewed a suspect, but he has not been charged, O'Grady said.
Argentieri was taken to St. James Hospital in Hornell, where he later died.
No further information was immediately available.
