Where is the law about sex offenders going to school where kids under 18 are attending?
To the lady in the black car at the Grant Avenue Plaza backing up while talking on a cell phone - get a life!

I thought there were two middle schools in Auburn. Why does every school in the area except West Middle have their honor roll and high honor in the paper?

The city has to reduce spending without cutting back on essential services. No excuses - find a way to do it or get the hell out of office.

Perhaps a little selective waterboarding could provide answers to unanswered local questions, (ie. Munson, Beer, the brawl at the Hall, etc.). It is legal ... isn't it?

Would everyone please clean out and around your mail boxes and your paper boxes. It would make our job so much easier.

Cahill should have been executed. He's a wife beater and a no good murderer who put a pill in his wife's mouth to take her life when she lay in the hospital bed after he brutally beat her.

Why should Steve Netti step down when he is getting free health care with the others?

Isn't it sickening, scary and sad that when the entire world is looking to America for leadership on issues like the war, the falling value of the dollar, genocide, etc. that right now Americans are fervently debating whether or not being either Christian or Mormon is the most important aspect of who should lead the free world as president of the United States.

If Cayuga County's politicians would shut off the lights on both sides of the outlet until June, stop your raises and benefits schemes, some of us elderly would be able to keep our homes for another year. Merry Christmas.

To the person who complained about the motorized wheel chairs driving on the streets instead of the sidewalks: the cuts are useless if the sidewalks are not shoveled. Please do your part, shovel the sidewalk and thank God that you can use your feet and legs.

One can only wonder why a parent who has a neglect and an abuse case filed on them continues to be able to have visitation and parental rights. What's it take - to have a child killed or maimed for life just at the expense that the parents have their rights met?

If you're mail is arriving late, pick up the phone and tell the postmaster about your situation.

Don't hold your breath about the city plowing out the handicapped parking areas.

Anyone who lives and works right in downtown Auburn and walks to work knows from experience that there is no such thing as “21 miles of city sidewalks” being cleared by the “city DPW.” This is most certainly not being done and in this sense, our little metropolis continues to appear very backward.

In reply to just wondering where all the snow plows are, I can tell you where they weren't on Sunday night. They weren't on Route 38.

The city of Auburn spent untold number of dollars making the cross walks at the corners of Lake Avenue, Crescent, Wilbur, Copley and Fleming streets and made them handicapped accessible. What doesn't make sense is the city plows now pile four to six feet of snow on these corners and they are unusable to anyone.

Cherry Love Duncan speaks truth, justice and the American Way in her letters to the editor.

People who do not wear orange clothes, and go through the woods wearing brown clothing, brown fur hats, trespass on other people's property, are lucky that they don't get shot by accident.

I was in the city of Auburn today trying to get to the parking meters. They have over two feet of snow around them and I had to walk down the street to get to it.

When Cherry Love Duncan speaks, everybody listens.

I would like to have another article about the landfill. The plan should be revised and checked over.

I think the citizens of Locke should stand strong and make the Amish follow the rules. Rules are rules, and they should follow the rules like anyone else.

" Check out The Adam Walsh Act. The law was created to safe guard underage children (that means 18 and under)from criminals like you!!! "

" To the person complaining about the sidewalks not being clean on the bridge by East Middle School, its the city's responsibility. The homeowner on the south side almost always has his side cleaned. "

" To find the rules on Sex Offenders, check out the Division of Criminal Justice Services web page: http://criminaljustice.state.ny.us/nsor/faq.htm Penal Law Section 65.10(4-a)has the school provisions for offenders on probation who were convicted of qualifying crimes. "

" You wouldn't even know it was the Holiday Season with all the bickering and complaining that goes on here. So to put some joy and merriment on this page--- MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Why not try to **SMILE** even if it just for a few moments?? Be happy with what you do have and try not to complain about what you don't? "

" I dont want to manage local gov't at all but in this town it would really be nice to make these elected officials accountable for who they hire and what the heck they really do. Because u d/n live in this town, perhaps u are not fully aware how truly deficient the powers that be really are - and when we have to vote there really isnt a whole heck of alot of choice here - its either dumb or dumber. "

" No, you elect officials that hire people to do the city's business and they answer to the elected officials not you. You and all the other taxpayers can't manage the government or it would come to a standstill. "

" Brew regarding your comment on recyclables 120907, I feel the city IS responsible to me what they make (and even if they really are recycling all they pick up) and use as an offset because they are employed by my tax dollars and I am taking the time to correctly submit these recycles as the city dictates. We are not expecting to be paid but it is technically our money to be reviewed like a budget. "
