A head-on motor vehicle collision injured two people in the town of Elbridge Saturday night.
According to New York State Police, Beverly Lagoe, 39, of Auburn, was traveling east on state Route 5 in a 1996 Plymouth Neon. The vehicle failed to keep right and swerved into the westbound lane, hitting a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta being driven by Eric Simmonds, 31, of Brooklyn, just after 10 p.m., police said.
Lagoe suffered serious internal injuries and was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center University Hospital, in Syracuse, where she was listed in serious condition as of Monday morning. Simmonds was transported to Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, where he was treated for a broken leg and several broken ribs, officials said.
A passenger in the Jetta, Pamela Roller, was not injured, police said.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is still under way, and charges are pending, according to state police.
