Blickensderfer admits attractive displays a challenge
Each Monday, The Citizen features someone from the Finger Lakes community.

This week, we spotlight Marilyn Blickensderfer of Etc.

Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

A. Meeting the people.

Q. What is the most challenging aspect of your job?

A. Probably having attractive displays.

Q. What are your most popular items this holiday season?

A. The Webkins are very popular, the kids are wild about them. Otherwise, dishware as well as all Christmas gift items.

Q. What would be your dream job, and in what part of the world would you be working?

A. Right now I am in my dream job.

Q. What's the best way to relax after a tough day?

A. With a hot cup of tea and a good book.

Q. What do you like most about living and/or working in the Finger Lakes region?

A. It's a beautiful area and my family is here.

Q. If you had the choice of meeting any three people in the world who would they be, and why?

A. Jesus would be first, he is our savior and for his wisdom, knowledge and love. Love comes first. Then Abraham Lincoln, he was a very wise and honest man. And George W. Bush, because I think he's very courageous.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A. Right here.

Q. If you were to win the lottery tomorrow, what's the first thing you'd do?

A. Put it in investments.

Q. If you were mayor or supervisor of your town/city, what's the first thing you'd change?

A. I don't know the town very well, I haven't lived here long, but I would try to do something to solve the parking situation. It's a problem for the tourists as well as the people who live here.

Q. Do you have any special plans for the next few months?

A. Going to Christmas Eve service with my family.
