AMH selects Riccio as new president
The Auburn Memorial Hospital medical staff recently selected Dr. John Riccio as its president.
Riccio succeeds Dr. Saul Rosenblum, who served as medical staff president beginning in January 2006. The medical staff honored Rosenblum for his service with a plaque at an annual dinner Dec. 3.
Riccio will serve a two-year term as medical staff president.
Buffalo Wild Wings to host fundraiser
Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant at Fingerlakes Crossing on Routes 5 and 20 in Aurelius will host a fundraiser for the Booker T. Washington Community Center today.
The eatery, which opens to the public Monday, will provide free dinner to the center's VIP guests. All proceeds from sales of beverages will go to the Booker T. Washington Community Center is Auburn.
Auburn Players to host open auditions
The Auburn Players will hold open auditions for “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday Jan. 6 to 8 at Westminster Church in Auburn. The play, an autobiographical comedy by Neil Simon, offers roles for seven men and two women with ages ranging from 20 to 50.
The audition will consist of a cold reading, so no preparation is necessary. For more information, contact Bryan Allen Jones at bjones02@twcny.rr.com.
Public Works giving skating lessons
Anyone can sign up for a six-week program to learn how to ice skate. The Auburn Department of Public Works and Recreation have registration forms available at the public works garage, 358 Genesee St., Auburn, Casey Park, and the city's Web site www.ci.auburn.ny.us.
The registration forms must be submitted to the Department of Public Works office along with the registration fee no later than Friday, Jan. 4. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Classes will start Sunday, Jan. 6. They will taught between 2:30 and 5 p.m. every Sunday. Lessons will take a half-hour, with additional time to practice.
There are classes for Tiny Tots, for children 3 to 5, beginners, and adults who want to learn how to skate.
Parents must remain in Casey Park during the lesson.
