One man's thoughts on God and disbelievers

Thursday, December 6, 2007 10:08 AM EST

“There is no God!” That is the belief of many in our country. All I can say to their belief is “Are you kidding me?” Perhaps they have answers to the following and will share them with readers and compare what makes sense and what doesn't make sense relative to God's existence or not.
First of all, how did this universe come to be? How did Adam and Eve come to be? How did good and evil come to be? How did all the animals, reptiles, fish, etc., come to be and the human body with all its marvelous parts? Who mapped it all out? Was it the apes? There aren't too many look-alikes in the world. Everyone has different faces and features. No God, you've got to be kidding!

Sound mind and sound reasoning can lead to no other conclusion but there is an Almighty God. Who else could have created the universe, Adam and Eve and the human body (male and female)? No, the stork doesn't deliver babies. God does. Dr. Frankenstein didn't create Adam and Eve. God did. The universe just didn't appear out of nowhere. God put it there. We didn't evolve from the ape. If we did we wouldn't look so good and we wouldn't have any brains. And by the way, how did the apes come to be anyways? No, it wasn't Dr. Frankenstein either. It's just mind boggling how anyone can believe there is no God. If it doesn't add up to any sense whatsoever, how can anyone who's of sound mind believe there isn't an Almighty?

Non-believers don't believe in guardian angels, the existence of a soul, miracles or life after death.

If there were no guardian angels, we'd all be dead by now. In my own personal life, I can attest to that on numerous occasions. And no, I'll never forget that day and neither will my son, when that very large deer miraculously went airborne over the side of my car instead of crashing into it.

" Coach, it has nothing with being "way too smart"; only with having an open, inquisitive mind, and above all, not running away from data that doesn't please oneself. Don't be angry--I didn't skew the figures or make them up' I'm just "the messenger"! Attacking ME doesn't change that.... "

" Utah the state of Mormons/religious people has the lowest crime rate in the country karl. They must be white (from the white light of God) and the rest of the states are "green" with "envy"-lol. "

" Well karl, you are just way to smart for me.I cant beleive I would even question your STATS.I guess I should do some more reading. Please karl give us some more stats.More blue and red ones if you have them. Maybe some green ones.Yours is the only opinion that is worth anything. Purple maybe? "

karl L wrote on Dec 6, 2007 7:58 PM:

" Sorry you couldn't follow the argument, Coach; maybe if you read it a little more carefully you'd see the point--"A recent study found that the states with the greatest numbers of social ills were in the MOST RELIGIOUS STATES, ie, "RED"-voting states!" The percentage of prisoners in prisons is OVERWHELMINGLY "CHRISTIAN"! As far as your laughable statement that "Christians in prisons most if not all found God after they found there new home, because they hit the bottom."--Oh my God, are you KIDDING ME?! Who told you that--Pat Robertson?! I'd LOVE to see the data backing THAT doozy up! Of course I never will-cuz it doesn't exist! Talk about "rose-colored glasses"! SHEESH! "

" I didnt say religous I said Christians. What does a state have to do with anything. The majority of the states are not Christians. You make me laugh. As far as Christians in prisons most if not all found God after they found there new home, because they hit the bottom. The state thing still makes me laugh. Thanks for the entertainment Karl. Have a goodnight. "

" No, Coach--are YOU kidding ME?!?! (why do I feel like Joe Pesci here) YES! I DO think they were all Christian before they went to prison! Have you heard of the studies comparing religious "red" states versus those of more secular-voting "blue" states? Of the twenty-five cities with the LOWEST rates of violent crime, 62 percent are in “BLUE” states and 38 percent are in “red” states. Of the twenty-five most dangerous cities, 76 percent are in RED states, 24 percent in blue states. In fact, three of the five most dangerous cities in the United States are in the pious state of Texas. The twelve states with the highest rate of burglary are red. Twenty-four of the twenty-nine states with the highest rate of theft are red. Of the twenty-two states with the highest rates of murder, seventeen are RED! A recent study found that the states with the greatest numbers of social ills were in the MOST RELIGIOUS STATES, ie, "RED"-voting states! By the way--the word "BLASPHEMY" means NOTHING to me! ZERO! ZIP! ZILCH! It has no power of me--because I am not ruled by the "fear of God" such as you are! If "Jesus" were not also an invention, I would say let "Jesus" judge away! I will return the favor in kind, and ask him "What have you done for Humanity lately?"!!! "

" Karl, are you kidding me? Do you think they were christian before they went to prison???????? I dont think so.Oh and your not a sinner!? Thats funny. All sin and fall sort of the glory of God. We all sin!You dont sin ?You mocking God is the greatest sin of all, its called BLASPHEME.I will pray for you.God loves all.Karl I am not judging you , I will save that for Jesus. "

karl L wrote on Dec 6, 2007 5:40 PM:

" Coach7811, actually, the prison system is chock-FULL of Christians and religious folk. In fact, Christians make up the overwhelming majority of prison inmates, in proportions much higher than Atheists or agnostics. I want to state right here and now that I am NOT a "Sinner", and I bear NO RESPONSIBILITY whatsoever for the misfortunes of the world. If you want to labor under that onus of guilt, then feel sorry for yourSELF! As for the existence of God, I said it before and I;ll say it again: if there's a "god" out there, then I challenge ANYONE--"God" herself!--to prove it to me beyond the shadow of a doubt! AT that point, I WILL BELIEVE! Until then though, I'll place my "faith" in my fellow man, thank you! "

" Just a quick question. How many Christians do you read about going on a shooting sprees? You know if there isnt a God like you say,I strongly disagree, then I live My life loving people instead of bashing them, judging them. If there is a God , I feel sorry for YOU.We live in a world of sin! That is not Gods fault. Each person chooses if he is good or bad. That has nothing to do with God. Thats your choice. But we all pay...9/11,mall shootings,muging,rape.. It goes on and on.It not God doing those things. Its time to put the blame where it belongs,on ourselves.God bless you all. "

" Murray, I've got a lot of respect for your ideals as a Christian; for your understanding of what it means to be truly "Christian" in the very best sense of the word. But in this letter you prove only two things: One, that you do not properly understand the Laws of Physics, and; Two, that you have not done even one scintilla of research into some of the most rudimentary arguments against the existence of "God". If you did, you wouldn't be asking such silly questions as "who invented Adam and Eve". In fact, until you can admit (as even most serious theologians already do) that the whole "Adam and Eve" story is pure theological MYTH, you're nowhere NEAR even being mentally prepared or able to join the discussion. BTW, DOCTORS deliver babies. And where were the "guardian angels" on 9/11? At the Sago Mine? At the Mall shooting yesterday? etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. "
