AUBURN -- An Auburn teenager was sentenced Tuesday to two years in state prison and two years of post release supervision for a drug possession charge.
Matthew Carnicelli, 19, or 101 Frankin St., pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court Nov. 9 to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Carnicelli was accused of possessing more than half a gram of crack cocaine on Sept. 4.
The sentence makes him eligible to attend the boot camp-style shock program before being released under supervision, according to Judge Mark Fandrich.
Fandrich noted that Carnicelli has had contact with the criminal justice system numerous times since 2003.
"I am concerned about you ... in respect to your behavior," Fandrich told Carnicelli in court.
Carnicelli will also have to pay $330 in fees.
