Respect may as well be removed from the dictionary. Self-respect and respect for others have been replaced by greed and selfishness in our country.
Americans speak with conviction and don't compromise on principles. The politicians, the news media and the nation must know how strongly we, the people, feel about preserving our guns and freedom.

The only ones to blame for the gas tax being reinstated are the gas station owners. They did not lower their rates per gallon. All rates and taxes should be posted on every pump.

The government force you to get an education or make you get job training and it certainly can't force you to work for a living.

I think it's a great idea that top management in the Port Byron schools wants to farm out the food services. Isn't it their job to save money when they are getting quality and professional people that know how to cook instead of the local yokels?

Why is it the cops always have to have a nasty look. Why can't they just say Hello or give a wave once in awhile

" Steve, the only trend I see is the alarming trend of people expecting the .gov to do everything for them. It is so pervasive that people are now getting upset when they realize that the .gov really doesn't help, and calling it a "trend". Sorry, it's not a trend it's reality. A wise person once said that Government is like a genie in a bottle. When you wish for one thing you may get it but you'll get 1000 things you don't want. The best thing to do with a genie is to leave him in the bottle. At this point I wonder if the genie will ever go back in the bottle. "

" Sorry Steve the government was there. After 9/11 they came to take away our civil rights and bomb a country that had nothing to do with the attack. After Katrina they bought millions of dollars of ice that they let melt on the ground and delivered thousands of trailers to sit empty. And the gas prices will let them allow their friends to drill for oil and gas in eco-sensitive areas and destroy wilderness and beaches. If only we could get the government to stay away, we would be better off. "

" 911 government wasn't there, war government isn't there for the families and protesters, hurricane Katrina government wasn't there, wildfires in Cali government wasn't there, gas prices government isn't there. I feel there is some kind of a trend. "

" If you want to DO something to help homeless/hungry call the Salvation Army and volunteer two hours of your time as a bell ringer this holiday season! I did and its a small amout of time for a wonderful feeling and hey you dont have to be religious to feel for the poor. "

" Gas station owners -- if none of this is your fault, why is it that a week or so ago the price of oil went down $8 / barrel but the price at the pump has not gone down? When the price per barrel went up, we saw the price at the pump rise $0.14 and more in just a few days, but it sure hasn't come down the same way. Don't get me wrong -- I blame Bush and his cronies as well, but I don't think all gas station owners are pure as the driven snow either. (I don't think the answer is to have the President "get control" of the fuel prices -- I think that is part of the problem already!) "

" There is no reason to label people Democrats or Republicans. We are people who just want to be treated justly. I really dont care who is who,we must have faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus. Not just arround CHRISTmas but all year.Look at the homeless right here in Auburn. What are you doing about it.God Bless all the people that are involed in Chapel House. "

" DON'T BLAME THE LITTLE STATION OWNERS...look to GW Bush and his cronies...these trumped up reasons have you buffaloed into accepting the WAR and blaming ARABS....want lower prices ????...talk to our "Fearful" Leader....If Harry Truman was still around, he'd KICK SOME BUTT andget control of the fuel prices.
