Geoff Doyle led the Jordan-Elbridge boys basketball team with 21 points, including 10-for-10 at the free throw line, and seven rebounds as the Eagles won a back-and-forth game with Port Byron, 70-63 on Wednesday.
The Eagles were up two at the half, then as many as 12 points in the second quarter before falling behind five points at the end of the third. The Panthers had a 57-50 lead in the fourth quarter, until the Eagles went on a 20-6 tear to end the game.
Richard Benesch recorded four of his five game steals in that time, while adding eight rebounds and 11 points for Jordan-Elbridge. Tyler Williams scored 12 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Newcomers Tom Graf and Jeff Donohue each added nine points in the win.
For Port Byron, Frank Smart was huge under the basket, putting up 26 points and tallying nearly 20 rebounds. Brad Anderson chipped in with another 20 points.
Jordan-Elbridge (1-2) travels to Marcellus, Friday.
