Having survived Thanksgiving turkey dinner, Black Friday specials and all those wild shoppers, you'll need to relax and enjoy a glass of Cayuga Lake Wine Trail's finest wines while contemplating the upcoming Christmas season and joining us for one of our holiday events.
Next weekend, we'll be celebrating our 14th annual Holiday Shopping Spree event. This event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Visitors will receive collectable ornaments plus a grapevine wreath and a souvenir wine glass while enjoying wines and holiday treats.

This year we're offering sparkling snowflake ornaments in assorted colors with a personalized winery ribbon.

Knapp Winery & Vineyard Restaurant will serve its Reindeer Munch, a pleasant treat of chocolate, cranberries and peppermint candies you can either add to hot chocolate, coffee or with Knapp's Seyval Blanc or its Black Cherry Wine. Americana Winery's recipe gives visitors an alternative on what to do with those Thanksgiving leftovers. It will serve up Savory Turkey Turnovers stuffed with turkey, sweet potatoes and stuffing drizzled with a cranberry, raspberry sauce. Montezuma Winery will offer Chocolate Wine Truffles, and Hosmer Winery will serve Merry Morsels, a broccoli cheese square. King Ferry Winery offers Parmesan Black Pepper Biscotti; and Italian Meatballs with Festive Cranberry Holiday Sauce can be found at Buttonwood Grove Winery.

Participants are eligible for one of our grand prizes, by handing in their ticket at their last winery stop, for an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn in Auburn or two gift certificates for two for brunch at the Ramada Inn in Ithaca.

A single ticket is $35 and a couple is $50. To reserve tickets, call (800) 684-5217, order online or purchase at any Wegmans.

On the evening of Dec. 1, Knapp Winery & Vineyard Restaurant is hosting its Enchanted Winter Evening. Enjoy dinner, dancing and live music by “Knock it Off” featuring Sarah Leo. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinner begins with a mixed green salad with roasted candied walnuts, dried cranberries and a mandarin poppy seed vinaigrette. Diners may choose between the following entrees: limoncello salmon, garlic and rosemary crusted sirloin of beef, chicken francaise or pasta primavera. For dessert enjoy blueberry port creme brulee. Tickets are $40 per person; to reserve a table, call (800) 869-9271.

Everyone at Americana Winery invites you to join them at its Country Christmas event on Dec. 8 and 9 for holiday gift ideas, gift baskets, personalized labels and the best creamy fudge in the area. Flavors include peppermint candy cane and pumpkin pie.

In addition on Dec. 8, Swedish Hill Vineyard is celebrating its Santa Lucia Day, a traditional Swedish holiday, with special treats handed out by Santa Lucia. Take pleasure in live festive music and wine specials from noon to 5 p.m.

Six Mile Creek Vineyard wants you to join them with your friends in making your very own customized Holiday Basket Creation. These may be made from now to Dec. 23. Basket and trimmings are free with your purchase of gift items.
