Auburn Memorial Hospital has posted operating profit of $1.1 million through the first 10 months of 2007, the institution reported Wednesday.
The AMH Board of Trustees received the latest financial report Tuesday. For the month of October, the hospital saw a $195,000 gain.
The year-to-date gain is $600,000 ahead of the hospital's budgeted goal.
The positive news comes as the hospital works to restructure debts that forced into Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April. The bankruptcy followed years of financial losses for the hospital.
"Our current success is directly attributable to an overall team effort on behalf of our board, medical staff and nursing leadership, and most of all our very dedicated employees," said Scott A. Berlucchi, AMH president and CEO. "The Auburn community has asked for quality health care, close to home, and we have delivered. Our community has responded with their support. We are very grateful."
The hospital also announced that it has appointed Rick Emanuel to its board. Emanuel, the publisher of The Citizen, currently serves as vice president of the Cayuga County United Way Board of directors, board president of the Cayuga Community College Foundation and past president of the Auburn Rotary Club.
