Basketball club to serve ziti
The Union Springs Basketball Club will host a ziti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the Union Springs High School cafeteria.
Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Proceeds will benefit the Union Springs Boys and Girls JV and Varsity players as well as the cheerleaders. Also there will be a boys basketball game - Union Springs vs. Lansing Bobcats - at 6 p.m. that same night, in the Union Springs High School gym.
St. Hyacinth's takes pierogi orders only
Pierogis will not be sold at St. Hyacinth's Church on Friday, Nov. 30. Sales will resume Friday, Dec. 7. Orders will be accepted by phone until noon Thursday, Dec. 6. To order, call 252-9547.
Breakfast with Santa at pavilion
Families can join Santa again this year at the annual Santa Breakfast to be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays, Dec. 1, 8 and 15, at the Emerson Park Pavilion. Cost is $1 per person; children 2 and under are free with a canned good.
This event is sponsored by Wegmans and Cayuga County Parks and Trails Department. Face painting will be offered and is sponsored by the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theater.

Museum to host youth workshops
The Erie Canal Museum will host “Children Workshops at the Museum,” where children can build their own gingerbread houses, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 and 8. Space is limited so sign-ups are encouraged. The workshop is $5 for members and $8 for non-members.
The museum will also feature a gallery of gingerbread houses from Friday, Nov. 23 through Monday, Dec. 31. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

STAR Society to host Doney dinner
The STAR Society, a local motorcycle club, will host a spaghetti dinner benefit from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Sennett Federated Church, located at the corners of Turnpike and Weedsport-Sennett roads for Kevin Doney who underwent double bypass open heart surgery last month.
Doney will have a long recovery and therefore be forced to be out of work for several months. The benefit will help provide financial assistance to help pay his medical, family and household expenses.
Cost for the dinner is $10, and children under 5 are free. Take-out meals will be available.
The benefit will also feature raffles, door prizes, bake sale, silent auction and music.
United Church to hold cookie sale
The United Church of Auburn will host The Incredible Christmas Cookie Sale from 9 a.m. until sold out Saturday, Dec. 15, at the church, 77 Metcalf Ave., Auburn. All cookies made with love by church ladies.
Patrons select from the variety of cookies offered. Cost is $6 per pound. Call 252-4397 for more details.
