Greers compete in New York City
Weedsport's Mike Greer and Nicole Greer competed at the Foot Locker Northeast Championships this past weekend in New York City.
Mike Greer, a junior, finished 89th with a time of 18:14 in the Junior Boys Division. Nicole Greer was 65th with a time of 25:44 in the Freshman Girls Division.
Basketball club to host ziti dinner
The Union Springs Basketball Club will be hosting a ziti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the Union Springs High School cafeteria.
The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children. The dinner will benefit the Union Springs boys and girls JV and varsity basketball players, as well as the cheerleaders.
There will also be a basketball game - Union Springs against Lansing at 6 p.m. in the gym.
Ice Fishing Weekend begins Dec. 8
Bass Pro Shops Sportman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall will host its annual Ice Fishing Weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 8 and 9.
There will be ice fishing equipment sales, as well as an inside ice fishing derby with live trout for kids and adults alike.
The cost is free on both days.
There will also be information available on the Bass Pro Shops 2008 Ice Fishing Derby on Owasco Lake on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008.
Pop Warner looking for board members
Auburn Pop Warner is looking for new board members. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of every month, except for January.

YMCA offering dodgeball league
The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering a co-ed dodgeball league from 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday night.
The six-week league begins Nov. 30 and is offered for adults.
The team fee is $75 (for each non-YMCA member, add $15) and teams must consist of six or more players.
Registration deadline is noon on Nov. 29.
A roster and payment must be presented at the time of registration.

Holmberg hosting baseball clinic
Auburn Doubledays manager Dennis Holmberg will be conducting his annual winter baseball clinic on Thursday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 2 in the batting tunnel at Falcon Park.
The clinic is split into two sessions - from 5 to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
It is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 15.
Reservations are $55 and can be made by calling 255-2489.
Each session can hold up to 20 children. Every participant will receive a voucher for a box seat ticket for a 2008 home game and a 2007 New York-Penn League Championship cap.
Pizza will be served following each session on Feb. 2.
Holmberg has taught this clinic for the past five years. He will be in Auburn as a guest for the Doubledays annual Hot Stove Dinner which will be held Saturday, Feb. 2.
