Thanks to Frau Hillary, Herr Spitzer has dropped licenses for illegal aliens for the time being. The governor is concentrating on getting Democrats elected to the state Senate so he can get S 1495 passed that would eliminate American citizenship as a requirement to vote in any election in New York state
So Spitzer is the bad guy and Bruno is the one to trust. You Republicans are so scared that you use any tactic to discredit someone who is bright but human, using any missteps to arouse people against an opponent.

Maybe the majority of city of Auburn residents are city workers or former city workers, or retired city workers, but I doubt it.

All these friendly puff pieces about Quill and when he's just mayor-elect is a little different than the negative articles about Tim Lattimore and Chris DeAngelis when they were mayor-elect.

The continuous anti-American, anti-conservative Republican rhetoric by unhappy liberals like Chuck Mason and Tom McNabb is getting more and more nauseating.

I drive an SUV because I can afford an American-made vehicle, and I can afford the gas that goes with it. Plus I have a big family that can't fit into a car.

" Ford makes a little Escort wagon that can fit a fair number and gets decent mileage (always over 20 MPG anyway). I am sure there are other vehicles as well. And if the public demanded them, the manufacturers would have to make them. Hybrid may or may not be the answer, but we have to keep looking because the supply of fuel is not endless. We still aren't A) looking hard enough and B) taking the eventual end seriously enough to start preparing for it now. Some day we will run out of oil -- better to come up with an option now.... "

" Maybe if your family walked to a few places the exercise would keep them from being so "large" and they could fit in a car when the need arose. "

" Hey guys, I'd like to make two points----The construction of a hybrid vehicle places more harmful toxins into our atmosphere than the building and running of an average internal combustion engine. I drive a large SUV that gets 15mpg---I love it. Also, it takes fossil fuels to create energy to charge your electric or hybrid vehicle. I guess there is no way out of it. "

" Today I made 2 left turns into Dunkin doughnuts. That is on Standard Ave. Drove 45 on Grant ave, in my haste both times to get my java. I drive a huge gas hog 4x4. That gets 13 MPG. I voted for Bush both times. I think the Clintons are the antichrist. I believe in God. I hate Red Lobster, Auburn dosen't need one. I like to eat animals, they taste like meat. Global warming is Gores hog wash. He is making money off the "scare". The sky is falling also. "

" Owning a SUV if there is a true need to own one is fine I think. The SUV is a good vehicle for those that ski, hunt, need the 4 wheel drive to get in and out of places like that. How many people own a SUV and only use it for grocery shopping..lol. I know I have seem some that do just that. "

" For the SUV owner I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I'm happy for you that you can afford an SUV, the gas to put in it, the big family fits...Big deal so what is your point??? "

" To the SUV owner, Id love to see your American made SUV, because I for one know it does not exist. There is NO such thing as American made cars anymore! Maybe assembled in America (if your lucky) but with foreign parts! "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Nov 26, 2007 12:32 PM:

" But can our environment afford to continue to support your wasteful overuse of natural resources, oh smug SUV owner? There are more fuel efficient vehicles out there which will fit a whole family. "
