Time to make holiday wreaths

SCIPIO - Thanksgiving Day weekend traditionally means the start of the holiday season, but for many area residents it is also time for the annual wreath-making workshop hosted by the Southern Cayuga Garden Club.

“The workshop has become an intergenerational event for many families,” said Southern Cayuga Garden Club consultant Debi Lampman during the annual wreath-making workshop held at the Scipioville Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon. “I have been attending for 13 years now and there are people that have been attending a lot longer than that.”

Lampman said that the workshop began many years ago as a fundraiser for the Howland Stone Store Museum but was transferred to a fundraiser for the garden club when the museum decided not to host it any longer.
