Every day you read how badly people treat each other. I would like to share a happy story.
On Tuesday Nov. 20, my 18-year-old son, who is a newly graduated Marine, was flying home for Thanksgiving leave. His journey started in Jacksonville, N.C., with a connecting flight in Charlotte, N.C. and finally to Syracuse. His flight was delayed in Jacksonville due to weather, and when he arrived in Charlotte, he had missed his connecting flight. He was placed on standby from Charlotte to Syracuse direct.
A man approached my son and asked him if he was in the military, to which he replied “yes.” The man then went to the ticket agent and instructed her to give his ticket to my son. He then turned to him and thanked him for serving and told him to enjoy his time with this family.
To this man, I say a heartfelt THANK YOU, for showing my son respect and consideration. You are obviously a man of great character and class.
Please know that this act of kindness did not go unrecognized or unappreciated. I hope you and your family sees this and know that there is a proud Marine mom who was touched by your generosity.
