HIT: To the crackdown on enforcing the state's seat-belt law. It isn't like this is new, the law's been on the books for more than 20 years.
It's a proven fact, seat belts save lives. Anything that increases use of seat belts is a good thing. With winter driving being a major cause of dangerous accidents, it's a good idea to slow down and buckle up.
Just check the Internet and see how many deadly accidents there are around the country where the deceased were not wearing seat belts.
Buckle up.
MISS: To another disastrous Syracuse football season. The 2-9 Orange wrap up the 2007 campaign on Saturday at the Carrier Dome against No. 24-ranked Cincinnati.
If Syracuse loses (and it's a 20-point underdog), it will be the second 10-loss in the program's long, distinguished history. The first came two years ago in head coach Greg Robinson's first season.
Usually, a coach deserves the chance to last the length of his contract, but that's under the idea of making progress. This season, Syracuse is going backward.
SU athletic director Dr. Daryl Gross will have a tough decision to make if he wants to restore the public's faith in his football program.
HIT: To the annual interfaith Thanksgiving service, which was held at Temple B'Nai Israel in Sennett on Tuesday night.
In a world where wars are being fought over religion, it's encouraging to see people of different faiths gather and worship in their own ways - tolerant and respectful of each others' differences.
If the others followed this example, the world would be a better place.
