Final flu clinic canceled by county
The Cayuga County Health Department has canceled the last scheduled flu clinic because it is out of the flu vaccine.
If you have not received a flu shot but would still like one, contact your health care provider and inquire if the office is providing one.
Support group celebrates 20 years
The I Can Cope Cancer Support Group will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Sunset Restaurant, 93 N. Division St., Auburn.

The Child Care Council of the Finger Lakes can assist low to moderate income parents who are working or returning to school full-time with the cost of day care through the city of Auburn Child Care subsidy program.

Cash raffle benefits Mercy residents
The auxiliary of Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center is offering a Christmas Cash Raffle this year. For $1 participants have a chance to win the first prize of $200, second $100 and third $50.
Tickets are available from auxiliary members or by calling Barbara Avino at 252-7089 or Marie Socci at 253-8337. All proceeds benefit the residents of the center.
Series to educate teen parents
The Every Person Influences Children (EPIC) office has scheduled a “Just for Teens” workshop series to start Wednesday, Nov. 28. The workshops will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday, in the EPIC office, 17 E. Genesee St., Auburn.
The workshops are sponsored by The Allyn Foundation and the Auburn City Block grant.
This series addresses the challenges of teens having a baby and raising a child. The skills learned during this series include: fundamental parenting skills, relationships, bonding with one's child and personal well-being.
If needed, transportation to and from the workshops may be arranged. To learn more, call EPIC at 253-8583.
Learn how to make natural remedies
Rhonda Marr, a licensed acupuncturist and botanical medicine practitioner, will offer a class on creating all natural herbal remedies from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 1, at The Center, 1 Hoffman St., Suite, Auburn. The class consists of a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on participation.
Each participant will learn to create and take home: elderberry cough syrup, warming winter bath salts, an immune stimulant tincture and a soothing respiratory/ chest balm. Supplies for class preparation are included.
Cost per person is $45. To register, call 704-0319.
Bereavement group to meet
The Wounded Healers Bereavement Support Group will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 17 Clymer St., Auburn. There is no charge to attend.
