She books boat tours, but isn't fond of heights
Each Monday, The Citizen features someone from the Finger Lakes community.

This week, we spotlight Gail Steigerwald of Midlakes Navigation.

Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

A. Getting people out to the lake and making them happy.

Q.What is the most challenging aspect of your job?

A. Making people happy.

Q. What would be your dream job, and in what part of the world would you be working?

A. A home business with my husband, where we could spend more time together and be close to family.

Q. What's the best way to relax after a tough day?

A. Go home to play with my kids.

Q. What do you like most about living and/or working in the Finger Lakes region?

A. Seeing the lakes on my way into work. I don't think I could live in a more beautiful part of the country. The views are great.

Q. If you had the choice of meeting any two people in the world who would they be, and why?

A. A grandparent on each side that I was never able to meet.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A. Hopefully still a happy mother of two and still with my loving husband.

Q. If you were to win the lottery tomorrow, what#'s the first thing you'd do?

A. Probably have a big party for all my family and friends.

Q. What would people who think they know you be most surprised to find out about you?

A. That I'm scared of heights.

Q. If you were mayor or supervisor of your town/city, what#'s the first thing you'd change?

A. I'd like to change people's attitudes about our tourism visitors. People have negative attitudes about them, but if they weren't here, a lot of our businesses wouldn't be here.
