" Personally, I don't like the fact that it's impossible to have paragraph breaks. It makes each and every post look like one big run-on sentence. I also think auburnpub.com should give it's competitor (syracuse.com) a wake up call by creating a state-of-the-art on-line forum. This would create a venue for people to share views on a variety of topics instead of just the "news" of the day. Auburnpub.com currently does a lot of things correctly with "The Citizens' Say" functionality in that they monitor content before it's actually posted on the site. Another item of interest would be to disallow multiple screen names posting under the same IP address. This should be a must for any new on-line forum. Basically, if multiple screen names were allowed, it would give a false sense of credibility in regards to a specific viewpoint and I don't think that's appropriate. Many people would have you believe that with an undertaking of this magnitude, the website staff would have to increase personnel to monitor the site. In reality, that couldn't be further from the truth. The administrators of many successful on-line forums today grant moderator permissions to a handful of "trusted" citizens who frequently visit the site. The moderators have the ability to either allow or disallow a post based on content, but nothing else. When a situation arises whereas the content is questionable and it becomes disallowed by the moderator, it falls into the administrators inbox and dealt with at a higher level. This takes much of the burden off the site administrators but also allows the flexibility for the administrators to "police" the moderators. I firmly believe auburnpub.com could take their site to new levels if they began an on-line forum with all the necessary safeguards in place. "
