VESTAL - The State University at Binghamton is developing plans to open a law school.
“We feel this is the next logical step in the development of our university,” President Lois DeFleur said.
The proposal is in the early stages of development, with ongoing talks with SUNY administration.
“We've been working with the American Bar Association. We have a consultant,” she said.
BU would need the approval of the state's Education Department, SUNY and the governor.
Among publicly supported schools in New York, it would join the University of Buffalo Law School in the SUNY system and the CUNY School of Law at Queens College.
