Auburn's voter turnout shows lack of priorities

Saturday, November 17, 2007 12:11 AM EST

I think Auburn's voter turnout was quite sad - 6,000 or so voters make it out to vote for our mayor?
Was there a good episode of American Idol on the tube? Maybe there was a full schedule in the dart and bowling leagues.

If there was a proposition to make Auburn a dry town, or outlaw scratch-offs, we'd have record turnout. Go back to sleep, it'll be OK.

" You ELECTED a mayor, give him the chance to be THE MAN. Can he negotiate to make things happen or not? To stab him before he takes office could be the reason why Auburn is in economic depression. YOU ARE TOO NEGITIVE. "

" Oh! And I forgot! Let's waste countless numbers of hours figuring a way that will make Quill have to vote first in the voting order at Council meetings. Quill's buddy Joker Hunter wasted our time for months on end to get that done.Joker never worked on anything positive for the city while he was on council and now with him back at the helm thru his puppet Quill, let's waste time and energy on projects like that again! " Sheesh "OMG", are you referring to the company that was all set to come here before the CEO even had a business plan? Or, was it the company that would potentially use the old Bombardier building that the spokesman from Bombardier knew nothing about? The people of Auburn chose Mr. Quill as their next mayor and hence a new beginning whether you like it or not. If you're truly concerned about Auburn, perhaps you should support your new mayor rather than degrade him. At the very least, allow him to take office before you write negative of him. Toodles!!!! "

" It won't be ok.All the work Mayor Lattimore worked on to get some businesses in Auburn will go down the tube. It won't be ok, It's back to the good ol boys with their filthy tricks and backroom politics....I want to see Quill's cell phone bill..I don't think he should have a secretary & let's carry his computer out of his office & examine it.Let's drag Quill thru all Mayor Lattimore was put thru "
