Elected officials aren't that much help getting rebate
We read Michael Gilfus' article on the STAR rebates and we can certainly relate to that. We filed online on Sept. 5, 2007 as they encouraged people to do because it was faster. What a joke that has been. We still have seen no rebate check and yet people that filed after us by mail have received their rebate checks.
We have talked with both Senator Mike Nozzolio's office and Assemblyman Gary Finch's office. I must say at least Mike Nozzolio took the time to talk with us, but he only made all kind of excuses for the rebate checks not being sent out as promised. Assemblyman Gary Finch was too busy to talk to us about such a small thing as a rebate check. Neither office helped us. Now where do we turn?
Governor Spitzer is more concerned with seeing that illegal aliens get a drivers license than helping the people of New York state.
