Same songs, different musicians.

The Dark Star Orchestra is a tribute band that goes beyond playing the hits of the heralded act that inspired it, the Grateful Dead. The Orchestra actually reconstructs entire shows from the Dead's career and performs them song-for-song.

They also map out the musical arrangements and set-up to approximate that of the specific Dead show they are recreating. And at the end of the set, they announce the date and venue of the original Dead show.

The Orchestra believes its shows are an opportunity for a whole new generation of “Deadheads” to experience the Grateful Dead's legendary music in a live setting.
