Get ready to toast a great evening.
Cayuga Museum will be tipping its glass to its seventh annual Cocktail Party and Raffle Fundraiser.

Always held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, this event will feature a generous serving of libations and delicious hors d'oeuvres, says Lynn Palmieri, the business manager at the museum.

“Like any non-profit, we were looking for a way to raise money for our operating funds,” Palmieri said.

“This was just one more fundraiser, but this one seems to have made it over the years.” Palmieri explained that many people look forward to this particular event every year, and it tends to draw in several regulars.

This gala-type event is open to the public by advance ticket only. Each $50 donation gets two guests into the cocktail party. Each donation is entered into a raffle where first prize is $1,000; second, $500; and third, $250. Tickets will be sold until the day of the event, and all proceeds will go the museum's operations budget.

“We've deemed it ‘Fancy and Fabulous,'” Palmieri said, and judging by Palmieri's enthusiasm, the gala promises to be a night to remember.
