The second donation day of the year for the people of Auburn is held today at the Cayuga Home for Children on Owasco Street. Provisions for the supply this winter were asked and all kinds of canned fruits and vegetables as well as any kind of materials which can be used for the children.

AURELIUS - Residents along West Genesee Street complained Thursday night about auctions at an auction house that has been operating without a variance for the past three weeks. The town board voted unanimously to order the town's code enforcement officer, Carl Staley, to go over to the building about half a mile west of the town hall and shut it down in violation of the zoning ordinance.

AUBURN - A group of 16 local residents - eight people of color, eight non-minorities - started meeting earlier this month to discuss feelings on race, diversity and equality. But to be successful, more “dialogue circles” must be formed over the next several years, organizers said. Dialogue circles are a new program sponsored by the mayor's Social Justice Task Force. The inaugural dialogue circle group got together for the first time Nov. 5. In January, they'll get training through the Inter-Religious Council, the Syracuse-based group that has run a program there for several years.
