Two Cents

It is time the three-legged dog on Madison Avenue is kept on a leash and not allowed to run loose and destroy personal property. Auburn does have a leash law you know.
It is not OK to say that the DA's total budget almost quadrupling, counting grants and adding positions (including making part-timers full time with benefits) is acceptable because the county and other department budgets also went up ... not when you move offices, twice upsizing, and push the purchase of a new, expensive building, all while prosecution conviction rates and cases are going down.

Wannabe Mayor Chuck Mason's sour grapes rantings and ravings are getting old and making people nauseous.

Thank you Time Warner for airing all those high school football games. It was very enjoyable.

This is for all you people driving 30 on Grant Avenue. Get out of my way - I'm 16 now, and the best driver in America.

If Governor Spitzer really wants to make the state's residents safer and cut millions out of the budget, he will let people own and carry pepper spray and stun guns and not give drivers licenses to federal criminals.

I would like to know why The Citizen did not publish a sample ballot like they have in the past, to I help us decide who to vote for, who is running and what propositions are on the ballot.

" With all the talk about the DA's office... isn't it funny that the county found the money (how many millions of dollars??)to remodel their office when they can't find the money to remodel the Mental Health offices in the same building. Now the county is complaining about Mental Health being cited by the state for not complying with their regulations. Wake up county legislatures, you have been asked for the last several years to let the Mental Health offices move but you would not let them because you would lose the rent from Mental Health. Who else in their right mind would move into that delapitated office. You want someone to blame? Talk to your legislatures. Wait, will they tell the truth???? "

" You can carry pepper spray in NYS. IIRC you need to buy it from a pharmacist but I don't think that is really enforced, as I have seen it for sale openly in many stores that lack a pharmacist. If you are willing to jump through enough hoops, like having your fingerprints taken and background checks done (and in the case of Auburn residents, having your mugshot put in APD's files), then the "empire state" of NY will actually agree to NOT prosecute you for exercising basic rights enumerated in the constitution, namely, the right to bear arms. " I just carry my three leg dog repellant. It doesn't work on four legged dogs, but it is for the ferocious dog everyone speaks of. The only problem is that its a left handed spray can, and I'm right handed. "

" When did Auburn open a satellite dump on the corner of Dunning Ave and Clymer St Ext? The entire lot is piled with garbage. Is there any charge to dump there or is it free to Auburn residents? "

" Chill on the 3-legged dog, please...first of all, 3-legged dogs don't "run" anywhere very well, and the poor mutt is just trying to cope with the loss of his limb. How'd you like to lose your ability to ride a bicycle? :) "

" For your information, you CAN own & carry pepper spray. I carry some when I walk my dog, & thankfully I haven't had to use it. I bought it right here in town, too. "
