Pop Warner hosting can and bottle drive
The Auburn Indians are holing a can and bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Pop Warner fields at Seward Elementary.

Proceeds will benefit the cheerleading squads going to regionals in New Jersey on Nov. 16 to 18.

People who wish to participate may also bring bottles to the Frosted Nickel on Clark Street.

Pasta dinner will benefit Pop Warner

There will be a pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Knights of Columbus, 47 Market St., Auburn, to raise money for Auburn Pop Warner cheerleaders and football players who travel.

Take-out and delivery are available.

There will also be a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle and other prizes.

New fall programs at Cato Rec Center

The Cato-Meridian Community Recreation Center is offering the following programs: swim lessons for babies and youth, arthritis water class, osteoporosis exercise program and karate.

New programs this session include aerobics and kickboxing.

The seven-week session starts this week.

The Central New York Track & Field Officials Association is holding training sessions for new officials from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 7 and 14, at Canastota High School.

D-days merchandise on sale now

The Auburn Doubledays are selling merchandise for its 2007 New York Penn League Title and are teaming up with United Way of Cayuga County until Christmas.

Portions of the sale will be donated.

The gear can be purchased at Falcon Park and Casey Park.

The Clubhouse Shop is open at Falcon Park from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Food drive going on this month

Calvary Food Pantry has been allowed to hold a Food Drive at three fitness centers for the whole month of November.

The following fitness centers are hosting this event: the Swartz Fitness and Health Center, 190 State St., Auburn; the Fingerlakes Health Center, 2116 W. Genesee St., Auburn; and the Champions For Life Center, Grant Avenue, Auburn.

Sportsmen's Club offering shootings

The Cayuga County Sportsmen's Club is offering skeet, 5-stand, trap and sporting clay shooting at 9 a.m. every Sunday morning.
