Auburn's Kelsey Roe broke an eight-year school record in the 100 backstroke, finishing fourth (1:03.42) in the Section III, Class A swimming finals at Nottingham, Saturday.
Liverpool won the Section III, Class A title, scoring 359 points. The Maroons placed fifth of seven teams, ahead of Fayetteville-Manlius and Oswego.
Roe, Ashley King, Kara Cunningham and Kiersten Salemi came in third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:50.42).
Salemi, Laura Iwanicki, Roe and Mallorie Dygert came in fifth (1:56.65) in the 200 medley relay. Cunningham took 12th in the 200 freestyle (2:05.43).
Makenzie Hauger was 15th in the 200 IM (2:30.40), Dygert came in eighth in the 50 freestyle (25.82) and Roe was sixth in the 100 butterfly (1:04.31), setting a lifetime personal best time.
Dygert came in 11th in the 100 freestyle (56.89) and King took ninth in the 500 freestyle (5:35.30). Tracy Miller (5:55.31) and Cunningham (5:35.49) earned personal best times in the event.
Iwanicki finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.41) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Dygert, Iwanicki, King and Kline placed fourth (1:44.02).
“We swam very well,” Auburn coach Tom Clary said. “The majority of our times were faster than they were on Thursday.”
