It was back in autumn of 1961 when I first met Mike Didio, who is running for the Cayuga County legislature representing the people of the 14th district encompassing the south/southwest section of Auburn. Mike sat a few desks from me in homeroom at Mount Carmel High School. Thus began a friendship that, 46 years later, continues to grow. Though I lived in other parts of the country most of the intervening years, my visits back to Auburn always included seeing Mike and his wonderful wife, Marie. Circumstances developed whereby it was necessary for me to be back in Auburn for pretty much all of the past seven months.
I relate all this because during this seven month period I've had the pleasure of seeing Mike often. Certain qualities that Mike has in abundance have struck me. As our friendship deepened, I've noticed that he is a man of integrity and a man of compassion, a man devoted to family and to the concerns of the people of Auburn. Mike will, I am sure, listen carefully to all the voices of his constituency, not just the loudest. He will carefully weigh all the arguments. He will use his well-earned wisdom to make decisions based on their merits, just as they should be.
The 14th district will be extraordinarily well represented if Mike is elected.
I urge you to vote for Mike Didio on Nov. 6.
