Your vote for John Klink for supervisor of the Town of Owasco is very important. Please mark your calendars and get out and vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
On Election day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, John Klink will receive my vote.
As a Republican town councilor for 12 years, I gained enormous respect for John, his dedication, knowledge and leadership.
John has been my ally in the fight to effect legislation that would keep those garbage trucks on the Eisenhower NYS Thruway where they belong. He has lead the town of Owasco effort to organize a regional committee to work on this ever-increasing problem.
The town - right now - needs someone who knows how local government works; who knows how to work with the DOT, DEC, health department, all state agencies and the legal community.
There is no “on-the-job training,” candidates who have not been involved with the town board and who have not served on the board would be lost in the system.
The supervisor is a most important position; the chief financial advisor, administering a $3.5 million a year budget; this is serious business - it is your money! The last elected administration had to train their appointed officials who eventually left because they could not do the job. It cost all of us thousands of dollars because the personnel who could do the work were let go and the partisan administration appointed incompetent people. The first rule of management was neglected.
Let's keep this an effective bipartisan town board that will bring credibility back to Owasco and make us the No. 1 town in New York state that we always were.
