The Moravia branch of the Red Cross has completed kits which are now ready for the next contingent of Moravia boys to be summoned into the army. They are composed of a sweater, muffler, two pairs of socks and the comfort bag.

The newly formed Barr Typewriter Employees Association will hold the first of a series of dances Friday at the Grange Hall in Weedsport. The Diplomats will furnish the music for both round and square dances.

KING FERRY - Since the early 1900s, King Ferry Implement served the agricultural needs of farmers from Auburn to Ithaca. It closed its doors Oct. 31. The business was sold twice more before being bought by Roy Tuttle in 1922. Tuttle's takeover paired him with George Smith, a sales rep from International Harvester. George helped Roy get started with a large inventory of agricultural machinery. Roy was then able to purchase two additional buildings within a few years.

AUBURN - With less than 48 hours until Election Day, New York state's first lady, Libby Pataki, stopped at the Cayuga County Republican Headquarters on Genesee Street, to say thank you to all of Gov. George Pataki's supporters.
