Democrats holding annual dinner today
The Cayuga County Democratic Party will sponsor its annual dinner at 6:30 p.m. today at the Sunset Restaurant, 93 N. Division St. Cocktail hour begins at 6:30 with a family-style dinner served at 7:30 p.m.
The party will emphasize the candidates running for Cayuga County Legislature, district attorney, and Auburn City Council and mayor.
Last minute reservations can be made by calling 253-7892 and leaving a message. Tickets cost $40 per person or $75 at the door.
County health dept. to hold flu clinic
The Cayuga County Health Department will hold a flu clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the First United Methodist Church, 99 South St., Auburn. The clinic is for adults ages 18 and older. No appointment is necessary, and there is no charge for people with Medicare Part B who bring their card. The department will bill Medicare Part B for the vaccine charges.
Those not covered under Medicare Part B will be charged $30 for a flu shot. Pneumococcal vaccines will be available for people with a doctor's prescription for $45.

Clerk taking passport applications today
Cayuga County Clerk Sue Dwyer will process passport applications at Johnston Paper Co. today and the Fingerlakes Mall in December.
Johnston employees can apply from 2 to 5 p.m. today. Applications will be processed for the general public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Fingerlakes mall.
Applications, which currently take four to six weeks to process, are available on the Web at www.travel.state.gov. The county clerk's office, 160 Genesee St., Auburn, also has applications.
Call the office at 253-1271 for information on what documentation is required.
