Family's loss has nothing to do with election for DA

I am a little dismayed about two letters to the editor which were printed recently in support of district attorney candidate Michael Bass.

As a law enforcement professional for approximately 40 years, I am perplexed that reference was made to a tragedy occurring over 20 years ago in the state of Florida. I find it difficult to understand what bearing this unfortunate incident has to do in the political arena involving Cayuga County candidates for district attorney.

This family should reconsider their efforts and avoid using a hardship for potential political gain.
